Ruby Seematter

January 14, 1941 — August 21, 2013

Paxico- Ruby A. Seematter, 72, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the House at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka.

She was born January 14, 1941 at Axtell the daughter of Paul and Minnie Schmidt Holenbeck. Ruby grew up on a farm near Axtell and graduated from Axtell High School in 1959. She moved to the Paxico community in 1971.

Mrs. Seematter was a homemaker and was a correspondent for the Signal Enterprise newspaper in Alma for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newbury and the altar sodality at the church. Ruby was a past 4-H leader and served on the board of directors of the Wabaunsee County Adult Transportation Service.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Cherylee "Jack" Holenbeck and an infant son Richard Allen.

On July 29, 1961 she was united in marriage to Paul Seematter at Frankfort. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Dwayne (Debbie) Seematter, Paxico and Gary (Gloria) Seematter, Admire; two daughters, Annette (Vincent) Glotzbach, Paxico and Mary Smith, Grantville; two brothers, Everett Holenbeck, KC, KS. and Paul (Joyce) Holenbeck, Frankfort; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m.Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newbury. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Seematter will lie in state after 6:00 P.M.Friday, August 23, 2013 at the church where there will be a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund or Midland Hospice Care and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple, St. Marys, KS. 66536.
