Richard A. Joy, 68, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home in Maple Hill.
He was born January 1, 1955, in Topeka, the son of George and Myrtle Bacon Joy.
Richard retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. He served as a fire Control Computer Tech and a Harpoon Maintenance Tech. aboard the USS Spruance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Ruth, a sister, Barbara Keller and a brother, Len Spencer.
Survivors include his siblings, Mary Joy, Ronda Weber, Tammy Marrow, Carla Joy, Becky Carter, and Ned Ralph; Stepchildren, Daniel Ballenger and Jennifer Ballenger.
