Rebecca Nickerson

St. Marys-Rebecca Josephine Torres Nickerson, 90, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Community Hospital in St. Marys. She was born August 15, 1924, the daughter of Camillo Joseph and Amalia Molina Torres in Dolores CO. She had lived in Kearns, UT. from 1955 until moving to St. Marys in 1999. On August 16, 1946 she was united in marriage to Joseph C. Nickerson. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Nickerson. Survivors include three sons, Henry (Theresa) Espinosa, Riverdale, UT., Anthony (Dianne) Nickerson and Julius Nickerson all of St. Marys; two daughters, Rosalinda (Gary) Fox, Fruit Heights, UT., and Dahlia Swehla, St. Marys; siblings, Alex Torres, Fred Torres, Susan Renova and Richard Torres; 13 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Requiem Mass will be at 7:15 A.M. Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. Mrs. Nickerson will lie in state from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Piper Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 5:20 P.M. Friday, at Assumption Chapel. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Marys.
