Rae Lampe

Rae Mona Lampe, 86, passed away, Friday, April 26, 2013 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.

She was born March 17, 1927 at Vliets, the daughter of Ray and Florine Isaacson Floyd. She grew up in the Vliets and Frankfort communities and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1944.

Mrs. Lampe had been a waitress and was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Rae was a 60 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was currently a member of Post No. 400 in Topeka. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the St. Marys Senior Center and the Pottawatomie County Ageing Committee. Rae had been an avid bowler and loved to fish.

Rae was married to Berney Black they divorced. She later married Lawrence P. Lampe on September 21, 1965 at Marysville. He preceded her in death on November 11, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Marilyn Weaver and Betty Brott, and a son-in-law, Robert Wilson.

Survivors include three daughters, Berna Wilson, Shawnee, Rita (Roger) Keller, Edwards, MO, and Janell Daake, Grand Island, NE; four sons, John Black, KC, KS, Jay (Cindy) Black, Colby, Terry (Linda) Black, Pleasanton and Jeff (Robin) Lampe, Topeka; two brothers, Glen Floyd, Beattie and Galen Floyd, Topeka; a sister Lois Jasko, Wilburton, OK; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren. and a special friend Darcie Rezac Stricker.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M.Monday, April 29, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt.CalvaryCemetery, St. Marys. Mrs. Lampe will lie in state after 2:00 P.M.Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until the rosary at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to the Rae Mona Lampe Memorial Fund to be designated at a later date and sent in care of the funeral home.
