Phillip "Phil" C. Wendland, 97, died on Friday March 22, 2024, in Topeka KS.
He was born on September 18, 1926, the son of Alvin and Viola Wendland in rural Randolph, KS. He graduated from Manhattan High School and Kansas State University.
He was a member of Dover Federated Church, Wabaunsee County Cattlemen's Association and Wabaunsee Farm Bureau. Phil was also a member of a very special livestock judging team while at Kansas State University. Phil loved his family and his livestock farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Earl, George, Alvin Jr., and Glenn, and two sisters Lucy and Mary.
On September 9, 1956, Phil married Dorothy “Dottie” Russell at Dover Federated Church; she survives of the home. Other survivors include his two sons, Scott (Stephanie) Wendland, Yates Center, and Andy (Melody) Wendland, Maple Hill, and four grandchildren, Rebekah, Mankato, MN, Jason, Olathe, Daniel, Maple Hill and Gage, Maple Hill.
Visitation will be held at Dover Federated Church in Dover, KS from 5:30 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday March 27th, 2024. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 28th at Dover Federated Church with burial to follow in Dover Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Phil’s memory may be made to Dover Federated Church.
