Patricia A. Goodson 88, of St. of St. Marys, KS, passed away Saturday May 6, 2023 at a Topeka hospital. Patricia was born July 1934 to Leonard and Verda (Parker) Gilio in Kansas City, MO.

Patricia and Fred married February 11, 1956, going on to have 11 children, 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Wichita Kansas. Patricia was a faithful traditional Catholic, a member of the SSPX Assumption Chapel, St Marys, KS. She began every morning praying the rosary.

In 1970 Patricia co-founded Right to Life of Kansas and was a founding board member of the National Right to Life Committee. She was Right to Life lobbyist to the Kansas Legislature for over 25 years, the legislative director for Right to Life of Kansas, Inc., and a co-chairperson of Kansas Right to Life PAC. Patricia authored multiple articles defending the rights of the unborn and was notably published in Washburn Law Journal.

Patricia and Fred enjoyed many trips throughout their years, of special memory, 1975 visit to Italy and her visits to their daughter, Mother Raphael (Colette Goodson) at the Abbaye de Notre-Dame de L'Annonciation, Le Barroux, France.

Patricia is predeceased by her parents Leonard and Verda, sisters Rosemary and Virginia. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Fred; brother Carl; her 11 children Anthony (Deborah) Goodson, Joseph (Carolyn) Goodson, Clare (Rick) Heschmeyer, Francis (Cindy) Goodson, Paul Goodson, Mary (Lance) Goodson-Thomas, Catherine (Jerry) Kohler-Carr, Mother Raphael - Colette May, David (Shirleen) Goodson, Clinton Goodson, and Constance (David) Ochs; her 22 grandchildren, Jennifer, Angela, Trevor, Suzie, Brenton, Julie, Brian, Michael, Scott, Melissa, Anna, Sarah, Nicholas, Matthew, Nathan, Elizabeth, Christina, Andrew, Noah, James, Kaitlyn, Hannah; her 13 great grandchildren, Lucas, Aiden, Ashlynn, Adler, Hadley, Hudson, Ely, Rae, Daniel, Melody, Jason, Kaylee, Conner; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers; Anthony Goodson, Joseph Goodson, Francis Goodson, Paul Goodson, David Goodson, and Clinton Goodson.

Requiem Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Immaculata Church.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Marys.  A rosary will be recited at 5:20 P.M. Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Immaculata. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M.
