Nancy Kay Rogers

Nancy Kay Rogers, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Nancy was born on August 7, 1957, in Wamego, the beloved daughter of Paul and Annabel (Cordts) Dohrman. 

Nancy was raised in the St. Marys community and graduated from St. Marys High School in 1975. Upon graduation, she attended and graduated from Clark’s School of Business in Topeka.

She worked for the State of Kansas for a short period of time and in later years, at the St. Marys Lumber Yard and the St. Marys Meat Market. 

Nancy married Jake Rogers, Jr. in Wamego in 1977; he survives at their home. Alongside Jake, she was involved in the ownership and operation of J & N Trucking for numerous years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Annabel Dohrman. 

She is also survived by her son, Jake Rogers, III, and her daughter, Debby Rogers, both of Topeka, her sister, Paulette (John) Simecka of St. Marys, and five grandchildren, Adam, Makenzie, Alyssa, Aliahna, and Chloe. 

A family visitation will be at 1:30 pm, Monday, February 12 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Graveside funeral services and burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys.
