Maxine E. LoScalzo

Maxine E. LoScalzo, 91, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the St. Marys Manor.  

She was born January 5, 1932, at her home in Emmett to Morgan Layne Sumner and Rachel Edith Haug.  Maxine was raised in the St.  Clere and Emmett communities and attended Emmett High School. While in school she played basketball and enjoyed being with her friends. She graduated in 1950.   

She married Darrell Eugene Swisher, and they had two sons: Darrell E. “Rusty” Jr. and Glenn Morgan. Maxine and Darrell remained united in marriage until his untimely death in 1961.  

In 1963, she married Anthony “Tony” Joseph LoScalzo. Maxine and Tony had two children: Anthony Joseph “Tony Joe” and Patrick Angelo.   

 A son Darrell E. "Rusty" Swisher Jr. preceded her in death in 2016.  

Survivors include sons, Glenn (Theresa) Swisher, Emmett, Tony Joe LoScalzo, Emmett and Patrick (Shawn) LoScalzo, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Maxine's sister, Sharon (Albert) Legg, Tonganoxie. Her grandchildren are Christopher (Esther), Morgan (Siera), Madalyn, Tiffany (Chris), Cameron (Kayla), Brittany (Darren); great-grandchildren, Luke, Carter, Savannah, Hunter, Mackenzie, Macie, Carson, Annabelle, Chloe, Jameson.  

Maxine chose cremation.  Mass of Christian Burial will be in the Spring 2024 with inurnment at the St. Clere Cemetery.  

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Marys Manor or Midland Hospice and sent in care of the funeral home.
