Louise Staszak, 92, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020.
She was born August 20, 1928, the daughter of Italian immigrants Samuel and Theresa Vallari in Mount Hope, WV. Louise was raised in Mount Hope and graduated from high school there.
She moved to Milwaukee, WI., where she lived until moving to the St. Marys community nearly 20 years ago. Cooking was her forte, especially all things Italian. Louise loved gardening and had been very committed to her church all of her life.
She was a member of Saint Joseph’s Missions Chapel at Emmett.
Louise was married to Leo Staszak for 42 years. He preceded her in death in 2017. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Carmel, Rocco, and Pete; two daughters, Leigh in 1999 and Teresa in 2003.
Survivors include her children, Christopher (Jean) Staszak, Ft. Collins, CO., Lindsey (Linda) Staszak, Colorado Springs, CO., Deidre (Dan) Wenzel, Medina, OH., Geri (Brian) Davis, Chicago, IL., David (Patti) Staszak, Wildwood, MO, Maria McCarthy Minneapolis, MN., and Jennifer (Pat) Joyce, London, England; her siblings, Mary Kolesari, Gladys Brigham and Tony Vallari; sons-in-law, Todd Pollpeter, Fredonia, WI., and Zane Ely, San Diego, CA;18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Requiem Mass will be at 9:00 A.M. Friday, November 6, 2020, at Saint Joseph’s Missions Chapel, 100 HWY 63, Emmett. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Emmett. A public visitation will be on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys, from 3:30 until the rosary at 4:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Louise’s name to Saint Joseph’s Missions Chapel and sent in care of the funeral home.
