Eskridge-Linda Pugh a lifetime resident of the Eskridge area, started her Journey to Heaven on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Linda was severely injured in an accident on January 20, 2015, through it all she was a "Trooper", but even "Troopers" get tired. She was born December 23, 1941 at Junction City the daughter of Ollie and Ethel Swenson. Linda was one of five siblings, Dean, Dale, Stanley and Lorna. As a child she lived in the Chalk area. Linda graduated with the class of 1959 from Eskridge Rural High School. Linda was a housewife and loving mother of two daughters. At the age of 39 she started an independent life, going to work for the Eskridge Newspaper where she worked until retirement. One of her favorite things to do was cross stitching and making quilts for her daughters and grandchildren. Most of all Linda loved watching KU basketball. She also enjoyed socializing at the local coffee shop and attending her grandkids events. Linda was the treasurer and was a board member for Maisie's Community Swimming Pool. She was a member of the United Church of Eskridge and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Linda is survived by her loving family, Deann, Carl, Megan (Bryan May) and Kelsey Williams, Denise, Ryan, Justee, Shane and Luke Dudley, Kathy, Logan and Jordan Hildebrand; sister, Lorna and Jerry Newby; brother, Dale and Betty Swenson; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 10, 2015 at the United Church of Eskridge. Mrs. Pugh will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 P.M. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Piper Funeral Chapel in Eskridge. Interment will be in the Eskridge Cemetery.
