Kathleen P. Ahearn

Kathleen P. Ahearn, 90, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022 at her home in St. Marys.

She was born October 30, 1931, in Claremorris, Ireland, the daughter of Patrick and Bridget (Carney) Campbell. Kathleen began her education to become a nurse at age 17 in 1948. She retired from nursing in 2000.

Kathleen married her beloved husband, Richard J. Ahearn on November 9, 1963 in the neighborhood of Middle Village in Queens, New York. He survives of the home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two brothers, Edward and Terrence Campbell, and a sister, Rita Burke. Other survivors include her children; a son, Patrick Ahearn (Gabrielle), Watkins, CO; and daughters, June Ahearn-Keith (David), Des Moines, IA, and Jeanette Pryor (Christopher), Topeka, KS; sister, Helen Holton, Cavan, Ireland, along with 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Requiem Mass will be at 11:15 AM Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Assumption Chapel in St. Marys. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Monday, October 3, 2022, at Piper Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed at 5:20 PM at Assumption Chapel following the visitation.
