Katherine Bushey

Katherine J. "Kay" Bushey 70, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at a Topeka hospital. She was born January 15, 1948 in Topeka, the daughter of Francis Clyde and Mary Catherine Cunningham Bushey. Kay graduated from St. Marys High School and attended KSTC in Emporia. Kay lived most of her adult life in Topeka and worked for the State of Kansas as an administrative assistant. She later worked for USD No. 501 in Topeka. Kay was a member of the Catholic Faith. She also was a member of the St. Marys High School Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert & James Bushey; a sister, Mary Ann Taylor. Survivors include two sisters, Julia A. Bushey, Topeka and Barbara R. Bang, Colorado Springs, CO; nieces, Frances Dewell, Jennifer Bang Johnson and Jacquelin Ekenberg; nephews Jon Taylor, CJ Bang and Mark Bushey. There will be a family visitation from 1:00 until 2:15 P.M. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys followed by a graveside inurnment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys.
