Joseph A. Carroll, 88, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Valley Vista in Wamego, KS.
Joseph was born April 29, 1934, in Chicago, IL to Anthony and Marie (Delaney) Carroll.
He was an English teacher who taught at several Chicago area schools, with his longest teaching tenure at Lane Tech High School.
He loved reading, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was united in marriage to Mary B. Monaghan in Chicago, IL on October 24, 1964.
He is survived by his children: Ann (Mark) Gayner, St. Marys, KS, Joseph (Jenny) Carroll, Junction City, KS, Mary (Tom) Treacy, St. Marys, KS, Beth Dalmasso, Maple Hill, KS, and Sarah (Mark) Gianelloni, Greer, SC; his 26 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Damien Joseph Gayner.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 11, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
