St. Marys—Geraldine E. Wilson, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at her home in St. Marys.
She was born on January 12, 1931, in Oakland, CA., the daughter of Gerald and Evelyn Hammett Coakley. She grew up in California, where she graduated from high school.
She was united in marriage to Edward A. Wilson on October 9, 1953at San Fransisco. They lived in California for several years then moved to Central America. They lived in Miami, FL, for 27 years, moving to Spain, where they lived for 14 years before they moved to St. Marys in 2006. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and Catholic.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, a toddler brother, Mickey, and her husband, Edward.
Survivors include her children, Mary Thomas, Michael Wilson, Ann Wilson, Patrica Arragon, John Wilson, and Teresa Harber; two sisters Marilyn Sullivan and Bernadette Goggin; 19 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. Friday, January 17, 2020, at Assumption Chapel, followed by interment in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
