Francis DeDonder

St. Marys-Francis M. "Frank" DeDonder, 72, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home near St. Marys. He was born April 12, 1944 at home in the Sandy Hook Community, the son of Philip V. and Louise C. Zeller DeDonder. Frank graduated from St. Marys High School in 1962. He served in the Army National Guard. Frank was a carpenter. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in St. Marys. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Christopher and Robert. On November 27, 1965 he was united in marriage to Marsha Scott at Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Jim (Lisa) DeDonder, St. Marys; three daughters, Tamara (Tim) Fulmer, Flagler, CO., Lori (Tom) Hutley and Sarah (Marc) Carlson all of St. Marys. six brothers, Dick DeDonder, St. George, Joe, Bill, Greg and Tim DeDonder all of St. Marys and Andy DeDonder, Wetmore; three sisters, Karen Mulligan and Peggy Smith, St. Marys and Mary Ann Davis, Silver Lake; 17 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter with one due in September. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 29, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. A rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. Sunday August 28, 2016 at the church. Mr. DeDonder will lie in state and the family will receive friends after the rosary until 6:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Food For The Poor or Midland Hospice and sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, Kansas 66536.
