Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Chase Golberg passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 in Tucson, AZ. She was born in Rochester Minnesota, to Joseph and Hazel (Warren) Chase on July 3, 1931. She attended Simpson, Minnesota grade school, and Lourdes High School in Rochester, Minnesota. After graduation she worked at Kresgee's, Notons, and St. Mary's Hospital. She married Gerald (Jerry) Patrick Golberg November 29, 1952. Betty and Jerry moved their family to Powers Lake, North Dakota in 1968. She worked for Our Lady Queen of the Prairies Shrine, as a cook. Betty and Jerry moved to Watford City in 1974, where Betty worked with Jerry in the Watford City Creamery. Betty also worked at the Good Shepherd nursing home in the kitchen for a short time. After closing the creamery Betty had a thrift shop for a short time in the creamery building. In the fall of 1978 Jerry and Betty purchased The Red Trail Campground of Medora, North Dakota and they moved there in the spring of 1979. Jerry and Betty spent winters in Tucson, Arizona for the past 33 years. Betty loved her family and enjoyed crafts all throughout her life, especially sewing. She also enjoyed travelling and meeting people from all over the world. She had a generous heart, taking in children, inviting people into her home, and making food baskets for neighbors over the holidays. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph P and Hazel A. Chase, and grandson Anthony J. Schneider. Betty is survived by her loving husband, Jerry and their children: Patrick Gerald Golberg (Sally), Watford City, ND; Mary (Golberg) Schneider, Medora, ND; Joseph Matthew Golberg, Belfield, ND; (Olie) Mark Olaf Golberg (Cil), Medora, ND; Daniel Luke Golberg, Bismark, ND; John Robert Golberg (Correen), Bismark, ND; Rose Marie (Golberg) Zapp (Paul), St. Marys, KS; Nancy Ann (Golberg) Larson (Kent), Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Chase and sister-in-law, Jeannie Chase, 23 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday afternoon from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M. at Piper Funeral Home & Chapel, St. Marys, KS. Rosary to follow at Assumption Chapel at 5:50 P.M. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Assumption Chapel, St. Marys, KS. at 7:00 A.M. Burial service to follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Luncheon will be at St. Marys College Auditorium.
