Elizabeth “Bitty” Rachel Baer, 2-year-old daughter of Matthew and Katherin Baer of St. Marys, was born at home in the mid-afternoon of Wednesday, October 12, 2022 and was baptized one week later on October 19. God called Elizabeth to Himself, and she followed His call and went to Him on Thursday, July 10 following a tragic accident at her home in St. Marys. She received conditional confirmation with the name "Maria" that same day.
She was a lively and adventurous little girl, who was always trying to keep up with her siblings as well as the rest of the neighborhood children with everything from riding bikes to pounding nails into scrap wood. At the same time, she was a very pertinacious Daddy’s-girl, who never tired of using him as a jungle gym or getting “Daddy hugs” depending on her mood.
Elizabeth is survived by her parents, siblings: Celia (10), Melanie (8), John (7), Zoe (7), Gregory (5), Nicholas (4), and Abigail (1), Great-Grandmothers Dorie Baer and Lorraine Reinpold, Grandparents: Lanham & Donna Baer, Gerald Williams, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Grandmother: Rene Williams, her uncle: Nathan Ray, and her cousin Molly Ray.
Elizabeth will lie in state at Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St. in St. Marys from 2:00-4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 15 with a rosary following at The Immaculata 701 N 2nd Street in St. Marys at 5:30 PM.
The Mass of the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel will be offered by her newly-ordained uncle, Fr. Dominic Baer, at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 16, also at the Immaculata, with burial following in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
Dear Little Bitty, help God prepare for us our place in heaven,
and help us to attain that degree of charity which God has
predestined for us from all Eternity, and may we sing,
with you, Bitty, a song of praise to Him forever in Heaven. Amen.
Little Bitty, pray for us!
Prayer composed by her parents.
