Maple Hill-Earl Joseph "Joe" Berroth, 73, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 in his home in Maple Hill. He was born February 23, 1943 in Paxico, the son of August LeRoy "Lee" and Selena Monica "Lena" Schmitt Berroth. Joe graduated from Paxico High School in 1961. He moved to Maple Hill in 1970. Joe worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka for 30 years retiring in 1994. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 657 and a member of the United Steel Workers of American Local No. 307 in Topeka. Joe also worked for Kolde Construction in St. Marys. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph Rorry Berroth on April 24, 1991, siblings, Arthur, Larry, Brad Berroth, Linda "Sue" Anderson and a son-in-law Steve Chunn. On April 8, 1961 he was united in marriage to Eloise T. Kolde at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newbury (Paxico). She survives of the home. Other survivors include his children, Jennifer Berroth, Jeannette (Tony) Proctor, Janice Berroth, Jeffrey Berroth, Jacqueline (Randy) McCormick, Jerry (Kristi) Berroth, Jannelle (Todd) Hepworth and Jayna (Craig Cimarolli) Berroth-Chunn; a brother Ronald (Diane) Berroth; two sisters Betty (Tom) Schuetz and Jean (Darrell) Tanner; grandchildren, Scott, Skyler, Sydnee, Andrew, Andrea, Darron, Ashlyn, Ericka, Joseph, Kaylee and Carter; one great-grandchild, Emma. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 16, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Inurnment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery, Newbury (Paxico). Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the church where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M.
