Alice Mae Lister

Alice M. Lister, 92, of rural Dover, KS passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Homestead Assisted Living of Auburn.

Alice was born on September 13, 1933 in rural Eskridge, the daughter of Charles and Marceline (Couture) Zabel. She attended Wabaunsee County Country School #4, Highland Park Elementary School in Shawnee county, Reading Elementary in Lyon county, and graduated from Harveyville Grade School and High School in 1951.

Before her children were born, Alice was a book keeper in the trust department at First National Bank of Topeka. She also kept books for the family’s concrete business for many years. Alice was also a member of Dover Federated Church in Dover for many years.

Alice was married to Richard Lister on August 19, 1951 in Harveyville, KS; he preceded her in death on November 11, 1996.

She is survived by her three children, Larry (Penny) Lister, Craig (Jean) Lister and Duane (Robbin) Lister; grandchildren, Francy, Laramy, Libby, Jenny, Ashley, Jordyn, Lindy, Lisa, Garrett, Criss and Dakota and three step-grandchildren, Greg, Chase, and Brett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, her sister, Emily (Zabel) Van Sickle, and her grandson Benjamin Lister.

Alice wished to be cremated and a memorial graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 in Dover Cemetery.
