Ruby Arlene (Welter) Zeller, 93, of Topeka, KS passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 surrounded by her family.
Ruby was born on November 16, 1932 in rural Pottawatomie county near Westmoreland, KS, the daughter of Wilson Ray and Georgia Beatrice (Chaffey -Domeny) Welter. Ruby attended elementary schools in the Westmoreland and Louisville areas and graduated from Wamego High School in 1950.
Ruby married Rocky Zeller on September 4, 1951 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego, KS. She and Rocky lived in the Maple Hill, KS for over 45 years before recently moving to Presbyterian Manor in Topeka.
Ruby worked as a housekeeper and at Josten Yearbook as a sewing inspector. A member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego, Ruby volunteered on the Education Board of Lynn Elementary School as well as the Federated Women's Club.
Ruby is survived by her daughters, Victoria A. Zeller of Overbrook, KS, Cynthia S. (Richard) Cervantez of Topeka, KS and Stacia L. Zeller of Fort Worth, TX; her two sons, James R. (DelAnne) Zeller of Tyler, TX and Bruce E. (Renee) Zeller of Salado, TX; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Georgia Welter, her sisters, Valerie Haas and Valdimer Barrow, and her brother, Orland Dale Domeny.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 17665 Old Post Rd., Wamego, KS 66547; a rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on the same day, at 10:00 AM and 10:30 AM respectively. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church or to American Diabetes Association and may be sent in care of Piper Funeral, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS.
