Margaret "Peggy" (Dunn) Pratt passed away peacefully on February 17, 2026, in St. Mary's, Kansas, at the age of 93.
Peggy was born on October 3, 1932, in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, the daughter of Valentine and Marguerite Dunn.
Margaret met her future husband, Jim, at the hospital where she worked as an X-ray tech, and they were later married on September 22, 1955 in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. A devoted wife and mother, Margaret dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm, loving home. Margaret and Jim moved frequently but they eventually settled locally in St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Pratt, her two sisters, Kathleen and Anne Dunn, her brother, Valentine Dunn, and two children, Mary and Valerie.
Peggy is survived by her six children, Charlene, Lora Lee, Dale, James, Danielle, and Krista; many grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, all still living, who will carry forward their mother's legacy of kindness and compassion.
She was known for her unwavering support and commitment to her loved ones, leaving behind a treasure trove of fond memories and heartfelt moments.
A public rosary will be recited for Margaret at 5:20 PM on Thursday, February 26 at The Immaculata, 701 N. 2nd St. in St. Marys. A Requiem Mass will be offered at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 27, also at The Immaculata, with burial following in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to The Immaculata and may be sent in care of Piper Funeral Home, 714 Maple St., St. Marys, KS 66536.
