Kelly Elizabeth Adams, 53, passed away on September 4, 2026.

Born on January 25, 1973, in Topeka, Kansas, Kelly was the daughter of Arthur Adams, Jr. and Reni (Korlin) Adams. She grew up with strong local roots, attending Maple Hill Elementary and graduating from St. Marys High School. Kelly went on to earn her bachelor's degree in journalism from Baylor University, where she proudly brought her energy and talent to the field as a saxophone player in the Baylor Marching Band.

Kelly's keen eye for detail and love for storytelling defined her professional life. She dedicated 19 years to the Topeka Capital-Journal, later bringing her talents to Peterson Publications before serving her community as a state employee with the State of Kansas.

Outside of her career, Kelly was a creative spirit who found joy in capturing the world through photography and making thoughtful handcrafted projects. Above all, she treasured time spent laughing and sharing stories with her close circle of friends.

She is survived by her mother, Reni Adams, and her brother, Arthur Adams, III. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Adams, Jr.

In accordance with Kelly's wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery at a later date.
