Ann took tremendous pride in her large family, and especially cherished time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.

Ann E. Broxterman, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born on June 1, 1935, at the family home outside of Seneca, Kansas, to Lawrence and Anna Koelzer. 

When she was a year old, her family moved by horse and buggy to a farm near Corning, Kansas. The many trials of farm life during the Great Depression taught her hard work and persistence. These characteristics she carried with her through the rest of her life. Ann married Robert Broxterman on Monday March 4, 1957. Through 61 years of marriage, they built a family filled with love, faith, hard work, and countless memories. She took tremendous pride in her large family, and especially cherished time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. Her home was a place where family and friends were always welcome. Sundays were especially meaningful, often bringing everyone together around a big family dinner. Ann loved to cook for a crowd, and her famous cherry cheesecake, apple goodie, and stuffing became treasured family favorites.

Ann's Catholic faith was a foundational part of her life. She carried a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother, making several overseas pilgrimages and praying the rosary daily for the intercession of the Blessed Mother for her family and friends. Ann was an active member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. She served as a sacristan and cleaned the church for many years, helped start the beloved parish picnic tradition, and organized countless funeral dinners. Ann's faith was evident not only in her prayers but in the way she lived and cared for others. In addition to her service to the church, she was known for her kindness as a housekeeper for elderly neighbors. Ann also had a remarkable gift for quilting. She made quilts for her family members, and later in life, building quilts from scraps became a favorite pastime.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son, Daniel Broxterman; her sisters, Margaret Koelzer, Dorothy Koelzer, Clara Niehues, Rita Eisenbarth, Lorene Olberding, and Mary Haverkamp; her brothers, George Koelzer, Andrew Koelzer, Melvin Koelzer, and Sylvester Koelzer; her son-in-law, Augie Meier Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Chanelle Broxterman; and a grandchild, Belinda Meier. 

A rosary will be held from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville, Kansas. Visitation will immediately follow at 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Dekat Hall. A Mass celebrating Ann's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rossville, Kansas.
