Biography

Donna Lee Pauly, 63, Overland Park, formerly of Wamego, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice, Kansas City, MO.

She was born January 5, 1947 at Nortonville the daughter of Gerald H. and Donis Stephan Reser. Donna was raised in Rossville and graduated from Rossville High School in 1964.

Mrs. Pauly had lived in St. Marys, Chanute, Columbus and Wamego where she lived for many years. She retired from Kansas Farm Bureau Manhattan in 1995 as a claims examiner. In 1995 she and her husband Jim moved to Overland Park to be closer to her three grandkids. While in Overland Park, Donna worked for Quality Mobile Health Services as an OSHA specialist and the Johnson County Board of Elections part time. While in Wamego she was a member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and was a current member of Cure` of Ars Catholic Church in Leawood. She was a member of the Kansas Society of Mayflower Descendants, The Daughters of the American Revolution, Sagamore Chapter, Leawood and Jimmie Lillard Post No 31 of the American Legion Auxiliary, Rossville. Donna’s hobbies included genealogy, traveling, spending time with family, and being a Loving grandma. She enjoyed researching family history and collecting information from the Reser and Pauly families. In 2005, Donna and Jim celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by traveling to Germany and tracing both their ancestral history.

She was united in marriage to James Pauly on November 13, 1965 at St. Marys. Jim survives of the home. Mrs. Pauly was preceded in death by her father Gerald H. Reser Sr. on December 26, 2008.

Other survivors are her mother, Donis Reser, KC. MO; son Darren (Deborah) Pauly, Staten Island, NY; daughter, Stefanie (Chris) Bresette, K.C. MO; brother, Gerald H. “Jerry” (Christine) Reser, K.C. MO; sister, Cheryl (Bill) Hatfield, Arlington, TX; three grandchildren, Emily, Allison and Jacob.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. A prayer vigil/rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 22, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
