Life Legacy
St. Marys-Ava Lane, 83, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the St. Marys Manor.
She was born November 27, 1926 near Elmont, the daughter of Wilbert and Martha Boast Neiswender. Ava graduated from Hoyt High School in 1944.
Mrs. Lane had lived in the St. Marys community since 1951. She had worked at Hallmark Card for several years. Ava was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
On July 28, 1951 she was united in marriage to Dennis Lane at St. Marys. He preceded her in death on November 2, 2004. A son, Michael also preceded her in death on October 21, 2009.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Lane, K.C., KS, and Laura Ziegler, Hays; two sons, Greg Lane, Wamego and Pete Lane, K.C., MO; a brother Guy Neiswender, Circleville; 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, St. Marys. Mrs. Lane will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Piper Funeral home where there will be a Rosary/Prayer Vigil at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the P.R.N. Hospice or the Talking Book Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
