St. Marys- Henry L. Stueve, 71, died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka from injuries he received in an auto accident that same day.

He was born October 4, 1938 at Blaine the son of Allie F. and Anna Wagner Stueve. Henry grew up in the Emmett community and graduated from Emmett High School.

Mr. Stueve was a farmer and stockman and had lived most of his life in the Emmett community before moving to St. Marys. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and K of C Council No. 657 in St. Marys.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rita May Coyle and Mary Ann Lonnon.

Survivors include two brothers, James Francis Stueve, Louisville and Gerald Stueve; two sisters, Eileen Willis, in Texas and Kathleen Hayes, Topeka; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Emmett. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. Stueve will lie in state after 2:00 P.M. Friday, January, 8th at Piper Funeral Home where there will be a Prayer Vigil/ Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association and sent in care of the funeral home.
